LNG Projects

Gladstone, Queensland, Australia

As the construction of the major LNG projects in the Gladstone Region proceed full speed ahead for the export of LNG, FSS are proud to be involved in the fire safety component across all three process plant projects on Curtis Island (QCLNG, GLNG, APLNG).

FSS is providing advice on the plant safety system designs and the overall compliance with Australian Standards as well as assisting the EPCM Contractor on submissions to the certifier and QFRS including ongoing liaison with the AHJ’s.

As part of the overall plant safety design it was determined that deviation from Australian Standards was required to provide all three projects with a more practical and operationally sound fire and gas detection design that would produce a significantly increased methodology to prevent the occurrence of a major emergency situation. FSS had a significant input into the overall logic and achievement of buy-in and acceptance by all stakeholders.

FSS continue to provide construction support to all three projects particularly in the area of testing, commissioning and certification of installed systems including those systems that have been designed and installed to facilities and equipment being imported from other countries.
