Cadia East Project – Gold & Copper Mine

New South Wales, Australia

Cadia East Underground, a Gold and Copper mine, is the first Australian panel cave and Australia’s largest underground mine owned by leading Australian Gold producer Newcrest Mining. The mine has significant ore reserves and a projected lifespan of more than 30 years.

FSS’ association with Newcrest Mining and experience in designing the fire systems for the Ridgeway Deeps Mine proved to be a deciding factor in awarding the detailed design and associated site support for the complete fire systems on the Cadia East Project. FSS worked along with Fluor (Melbourne) as the EPCM Contractor, Ausenco (Brisbane) for the aboveground facilities and SKM (Sydney) for the underground facilities, in developing the detailed design of the fire systems.
