FSS' previous experience with Barrick operations in Papua New Guinea, Australia and Chile was a deciding factor inĀ our appointment to the US2.7 billion Pueblo Viejo Project, located in the Dominican Republic.
FSS Canada is undertaking the detailed design and engineering of the project fire services, in conjunction with Barrick and their EPCM contractors, Fluor Canada, and Hatch in Vancouver and Toronto.
The project scope includes 40+ node integrated Fire Alarm Network, and Fire Protection and Suppression for critical processing facilities, including materials handling, crushing and grinding circuits, power distribution and major infrastructure.
FSS was also selected for its previous experience in working with the Owner's Risk Assessor and Underwriters, in being able to achieve fit-for-purpose, yet proven solutions for the Comapny's other facilities worldwide.
Project startup is expected in 2011. |
